Housing of Chickens within City Limits
Ordinance No. 2260 allows residents within the Blair city limits to keep up to six hens on their property after submitting an application and receiving city approval. Roosters are not permitted. Approved permits are valid for one year and must be renewed annually. As part of the approval process, a Hen Chicken Notice will be sent to neighboring properties, giving neighbors the opportunity to voice any concerns or objections prior to final approval.
